A young woman was reportedly raped inside Ateneo

“We are shocked and outraged by this report,” said the statement of Dr. Mira Alexis P. Ofreneo, head of the Sexual Misconduct Task Force of the Loyola Schools. “Rape is a heinous crime and is a grave violation of a person’s bodily integrity and human dignity.”

This comes after a young woman anonymously posted on #ADMUFreedomWall7145 that she was sexually assaulted in the comfort room on the fifth floor of the Loyola Schools CTC building.

The task force are taking this report seriously and will “bear down on the perpetrators with the full force of the law.” Dr. Ofreneo is also asking everyone on campus to remain calm and vigilant in order to avoid rumors and speculation from spreading.

She also addressed the young woman who posted and said that “we are truly sorry for your pain and suffering.” The statement also said that their doors are open for the young woman and any other person who has gone through assault should they need counseling and/or support.

At the moment, Ateneo has reinforced security in the entire campus.
