This is why Mac Miller’s photo isn’t in the “Thank u, next” music video

Yesterday, Ariana Grande finally blessed us with the music video to “Thank u, Next.” In the video, she paid homage to some iconic chick flicks like 13 Going on 30 and Bring It On. In the beginning of the video wherein she sings about her exes, you’ll see references to Mean Girl’s burn book.

If you look closely, you’ll spot photos and entries about Big Sean, Pete Davidson, and Ricky Alvarez. When she sings about Mac Miller, the focus shifts from the book to her face wherein she looks up. A lot of people, myself included, wondered why she left out Mac from the book. When one fan tweeted about it, Ari replied, “M ain’t in the book he next to my bed.”

Excuse me as I wipe tears from my eyes. Now that we have an answer to one mystery from the video, let’s watch it again, yeah?
