Piers Morgan should seriously be cancelled

There’s just something about Piers Morgan that makes my blood boil. I’m definitely an advocate of having your own opinion but we have to draw the line somewhere. He’s been in the hot seat for so many inappropriate and ignorant things he’s said and I’m shocked he’s not cancelled yet. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, let me refresh your memory of the absurd things he’s said. Remember when he called Meghan Markle a social climber because she ghosted him?

In case you forgot, he boob-shamed Susan Sarandon for what she was wearing. I can’t believe we still have to say this but, women should never be judged by their clothes. Whether it’s something cropped, or a skirt, or showing some cleavage, we need to let women be.

He also expressed his distaste for the Women’s March by saying, “I’m planning a ‘Men’s March’ to protest at the creeping global emasculation of my gender by rabid feminists. Who’s with me?” He also responded to a photo of the Women’s March calling it a “mass hissy fit.” Well, excuse me. His comments just prove why feminism is important, some men let their fragile masculinity get in the way of being a decent human being.

Speaking of his fragile masculinity, he also took to Twitter to call out celebrities for pretty much just being good fathers. He posted a photo of Daniel Craig carrying his newborn daughter with the hashtag #emasculatedBond. Sorry, how does spending time with your kid make someone emasculated? Thank goodness Chris Evans came to the rescue with his response. “You really have to be so uncertain of your own masculinity to concern yourself with how another man carries his child.”

More recently, he got it wrong about women’s nudity, and sexuality. Little Mix released a photo to promote their song “Strip,” which focuses on women empowerment and body positivity. However, Piers disregarded this and simply said, “I’d just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity.”

Ariana Grande wasn’t having it and gave Piers a quick lesson on what sexuality really is “Women can be sexual and talented. Naked and dignified. It’s our choice and we will keep fighting til people understand.” This comment from Piers is exactly why women feel ashamed when they want to express their sexuality. Maybe if women weren’t objectified anymore, things would be different. And, what Ari said was true, the only way we can let everyone see that our bodies aren’t objects is if we claim it and stay strong.

These are just some of the ridiculous statements Piers has made public, and these should be enough reasons for him to just take a backseat and relax. He needs to calm down on shoving his unpopular opinions down people’s throats. He also needs to think twice—maybe even thrice—before he starts writing a tweet or article.
