Queen Elizabeth II gets real about 2018 in her Christmas message

Christmas has already passed but let’s end the season with something special: Queen Elizabeth II’s annual Christmas broadcast. Her first-ever one was in 1952 so she has had a lot of practice. With all that has happened in 2018. We were curious as to what she had to say. Well, aside from all the seriousness, she talked about her family. “Closer to home, it has been a busy year for my family,” she said. “With two weddings and two babies, and another child expected soon, it helps to keep a grandmother well occupied.”

She also hit us with some reminders. “Some cultures believe a long life brings wisdom, I’d like to think so. Perhaps part of that wisdom is to recognize life’s baffling paradoxes, such as the way human beings have a huge propensity for good and yet a capacity for evil.” Preach, Queen!
