Gordon Ramsay accused of sexually harassing Sofia Vergara in 2010

Chef Gordon Ramsay should just stick to critiquing food and not disrespecting women for laughs.

A 2010 interview from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno resurafaced and it’s stirring up controversy because of Gordon’s inappropriate comments to Sofia Vergara. It began when they were talking about a skit they did earlier wherein Sofia was shouting at the chef for cooking her disgusting food. “I never scream like that in real life. It was all acting,” she said.

Gordon answered in jest, “Only in the bedroom?” This was met with negative reaction from the audience and you could see Sofia looking uncomfortable while scooting away.

It could’ve stopped there, but Gordon continued making things awkward throughout the show. He made an innuendo about oral sex while Sofia showed a photo of herself eating pizza during her vacation. At one point, he also smacked Sofia’s thigh which prompted her to shout, “No touching!”

Gordon also mocked the name of Sofia’s son, Manolo, and fudge dessert from Colombia that the actress loves. “It’s sh*t fudge,” he said. Sofia tried to slap him across the face jokingly and shouted in Spanish, “This man has no respect!” At this point, we wish Sofia really slapped him on live television.

And what did Jay do? He just laughed at what was happening and even excused Gordon’s behavior by saying he’s English. Even the whole England wouldn’t approve of that.

The interview ended with the two stars hugging each other. Still, that doesn’t mean that what Gordon did was okay. That said, netizens are accusing the chef of sexual harassment and assault.

As of writing, neither parties have commented on the resurfaced video.
