Ariana Grande spills the tea about the Grammys

Ariana Grande is at an all-time high for her career. This year, she has two Grammy nominations. Best Pop Solo Performance for “God Is A Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for Sweetener. So, it would make sense for her to perform right? Think again. Yes, she was part of the initial roster but something messy happened.

In an interview, Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich said, “As it turned out when we finally got the point where we thought maybe it would work, she felt it was too late for her to pull something together for sure.” However, Ariana is calling bullsh*t.

In a series of tweets, she explained what really went down. “I can pull together a performance [overnight] and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity [and] self expression was stifled by you, that I decided not to attend.” Yes, spill the tea girl!

She went on to say, “I offered [three] different songs. It’s about collaboration. It’s about feeling supported. It’s about art and honesty, not politics.”

According to Variety, “Insiders said Grande felt ‘insulted’ that producers didn’t want her to perform her [song] “7 Rings.” While they reached a compromise in which “7 Rings” would be part of a medley, producers insisted that the second song would be their choice.”

It’s honestly really sad to see that an award show meant to celebrate music and talented artists is merely just a game for some. I stopped watching the Grammys a long time ago because I feel like it lost its magic. It’s not as fun and entertaining as it used to be. And this issue might explain why.

On a more positive note, Ariana’s new album and music video are dropping any time today, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
