It’s all about the angle: The sunglasses trend that will heat up your summer looks

Summer’s officially upon us. By now you’ve probably stored all your sweaters and jackets again, and edited your closets for the season. It’s time to bust out—or shop for—your swimwear and summer staples. With the heatwave these days, one thing you shouldn’t leave home without is a trusty pair of shades. It’s important to protect your eyes, but we all know it does so much more than that. It’s a major fashion accessory, and if you’re wondering what the latest trends are, we got you covered.

From the runways of New York and Paris Fashion Weeks, we’ve seen the statement accessory in different shapes and sizes, but one thing they had in common was they generally feature angular frames. Yep, this season, ovals, round and cat-eyes with soft edges are replaced with triangles, diamond, squares, and rectangles with sharp, defined edges and corners. We saw Cristian Siriano’s triangular frames with sharp edges elevated the ‘90s cat eyes, Self Portrait’s hexagon shades brought the heat, and Carolina Herrera’s oversized square frames ruled the runway.

If you’re into this trend to, here are some angular sunglasses you can add as your fave new summer staple.

Sunnies Lottie sunglasses

This thin, ‘90s inspired design is definitely made to make you feel cool. You can cop it in a pastel pink hue (moonstone), a darker pink-red hue (anise), or in an all-black colorway (ink). Honestly, I love all three, I can’t decide. Available at Sunnies Studios.
