It’s happening! It’s finally happening! Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards are going to star in a new movie directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
This is quite refreshing given the love teams in the past few years, it allows for new onscreen chemistry to be discovered. The upcoming film was confirmed when Kathryn and Alden met up with direk Cathy today.
“Kinakabahan ako and nae-excite ako kung paano kaming dalawa,” (I’m nervous and excited about how we’ll be onscreen) Kathryn said during the press conference. “For sure I am very happy and nervous and excited.”
On the other hand, Alden said, “Yung thought na Star Cinema, tapos si Kathryn ang makakapareho ko, tapos si direk Cathy, parang total package na ‘to. Wala na akong mahihiling pa. Sobrang saya ko na I was given the chance to be here.” (The thought that it’s Star Cinema and Kathryn will be my partner, and then direk Cathy—it’s the total package. I couldn’t ask for more. I’m so happy that I’m given the chance to be here.)
The plot of the film is very apt as it revolves around two (millennial OFW) strangers meeting, very similar to how Kathryn and Alden are to each other. The movie will be set in Hong Kong.
The last film of Kathryn was The Hows of Us with her on and off-screen partner Daniel Padilla, while Alden’s last film was with Maine Mendoza and it was called Imagine You and Me.
