Philippine cinema in the ’90s brought us several iconic love teams, including Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin. I mean, who could deny the kilig while watching the rom-coms they were in? And if you were looking for any sign of a comeback, this is it.
Production company Project 8 corner San Joaquin posted photos with the love team, and filmmakers Dan Villegas and Antoinette Jadaone (known for her films I Love You to the Stars and Back and Alone/Together). The caption read, “It’s Bujoy and Ned!!!” which hinted at a Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang? sequel.
The movie first premiered in 1998, and it centered around best friends Ned (Marvin Agustin) and Bujoy (Jolina Magdangal). It’s the typical I-fell-in-love-with-my-BFF plot, but with dramatic plot points like choosing one’s passion over love.
Marvin also posted a photo with Jolina featuring the hashtag “#mmff2019.” Yes, we’re gonna see this film this Christmas season!
Jolina said in the past that if she were to star in a movie with Marvin again, she’d want it to be connected to Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?. Now that we’re getting it, what’s it gonna be about? Our guess is that they’ll be husband and wife in the sequel, and how they’ll maintain their friendship even in marriage.
