The official list of 40 Binibining Pilipinas 2019 candidates have been revealed yesterday and it’s a mix of new and familiar faces. Last year’s runners-up, Vickie Rushton and Samantha Bernardo are back, ready to win a crown this time.
Vickie, who’s an actress and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate, finished first runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas 2018. Her batchmate, Catriona Gray, won the same year and eventually became Miss Universe. Vickie was also crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas in 2011.
On the other hand, Samantha was second runner-up in 2018. Before joining Binibining Pilipinas 2018, she won Mutya ng Palawan in 2013.
Vickie, Samantha, and the rest of the candidates are all vying to represent the Philippines in either Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational, Miss Grand International, Miss Globe, or Miss Intercontinental.
After the screening process last night, Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar said she’s hopeful “they will be able to surpass what our batch was able to fulfill and represent the Philippines the best way they could.” Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International 2018 Eva Patalinjug added another advice: “Just be themselves, and enjoy the journey.”
The coronation night will be on June 9, 2019 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Read the full candidate list below and tell us who your bets are!
