Captain Marvel may be exiting Philippine cinemas soon, but it’s not going away without breaking a record. As of today, it’s now the 7th highest-grossing movie in Philippine history.
The film raked in a total $11.7 million at the box office—this is expected to go even higher once this week ends. This also isn’t the first box-office record that Captain Marvel broke since premiering last March 6. It had the biggest opening day, highest screen count, highest origins opening day, and highest female superhero opening day of 2019.
Carol Danvers wasn’t kidding when she said she wanted to go “higher, further, faster.” Captain Marvel, the first female-led MCU film, definitely soared to the top.
