Well, well, well. Avengers: Endgame has already earned over $2.188 billion in the global box-office, and it’s expected to surpass James Cameron’s film, Avatar, which has held the position since 2009. According to Variety, this is historical considering that Endgame got to this point after just 11 days, while Avatar earned over $2.7 billion in 47 days.
We have yet to see whether Endgame will get the coveted top spot in highest-grossing film list. But do you know who the real winner is? Not the Russo brothers or James Cameron. It’s Zoe Saldana.
Zoe played the lead role of Neytiri in Avatar, and most recently played Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War (currently the fourth highest-grossing film worldwide) and Endgame. This is on top of her other successful film franchises like Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Trek. Remezcla reported last year that her films have grossed $3.3 billion.
Even Zoe herself has acknowledged the online celebration for her success.

It’s important to recognize this because, as Remezcla pointed out, Latinas like Zoe have been underrepresented in “top-paid actresses lists.” It’s also suspected that Zoe’s film grosses and wages aren’t equal, further proving the existence of a gender and race pay gap in Hollywood.
We haven’t seen what her final salary is for Endgame since she only made a brief appearance. But she deserves a large paycheck for the success of both that and Infinity War, where she played a relatively big role.
Nonetheless, congratulations in advance, Zoe!
