The live-action adaptation of The Lion King is just a month away, and Beyoncé, who voiced queen lioness Nala, seems more than ready for the premiere as she quite literally transformed into her character (but make it fashion, of course) at this year’s Wearable Art Gala.
With “A Journey to the Pride Lands” as the theme, inspired by the Disney movie, Bey turned up at the gala hosted by her mom Tina Knowles Lawson, in a stunning custom Georges Hobeika ensemble.
The golden bodysuit with an embellished bodice features the face of a lion at the center, complete with a massive mane made of gold-toned feathers cascading over Bey’s shoulders. Gold cuffs, strappy sandals, and a cape which continued as a long train completed her regal look.
Meanwhile, her daughter Blue Ivy Carter looked like royalty too, in her yellow dress with “intricate beadwork that formed an epic collar and continued down the center, paired with a matching beaded headwrap crowned with gold plumes,” Teen Vogue noted. On Instagram, Bey also shared a video of Blue Ivy singing along to “Circle of Life.”
We’ll probably be doing the same at The Lion King premiere… with an outfit similar to Bey of course.
