The lowdown on the cool green shade you’re seeing everywhere

Color trends have evolved so much in the last couple of years. It all started with the rise of millennial pink and lilac, which then became gen Z yellow. In between those, there was “camelflage,” slime green, and the 2019 Pantone shade Living Coral.

Now that we’re more than halfway through 2019, it seems like pistachio green is the must-have color of the season. The Fashion Spot called it a “transitional shade” from fall to spring season because, as you may know, the former is known for warmer hues. While pistachio green is a cool pastel green-yellow shade (some variations are darker) which gives a fresh vibe to any look. It’s not overimposing like neon/slime green.

Harper’s Bazaar also credited the rise of this trend to SS19 collections from the likes of Jacquemus and Tibi. If you think pistachio green will eventually die down once the -ber months come around, WhoWhatWear predicted it would still be big in jewelry form in the fall.
