President Rodrigo Duterte is our country’s most googled personality for 2016. It comes as no surprise because he has been controversial since he decided to run for the presidency.
Time Magazine released an article called “See the Most Googled Person in Each Country for 2016” based on the data given to them by Google, and this list only includes living personalities. Our President is known for “waging a deadly war against drugs.” Again, not surprising.
Other people mentioned on the list were celebrities and personalities like Leonardo Di Caprio in Morocco, Gigi Hadid in Montenegro, Angelina Jolie in Tunisia, Joseph Schooling in Singapore, Song Joong-Ki of Descendants of the Sun in Thailand, and so much more.
But on this list, no one can trump the most controversial US President-elect Donald Trump (you see what I did there?). He was the top trending person in 88 countries this year, to quote Time, “far more places than anyone else in the world.” But of course, they are not a lot of good things in the search results.
There you go, world. These are just some of the few people that stroke your fancy for 2016.
