Every lipstick junkie knows the product has a distinct powdery scent. We often get a whiff of it every time we’re turning the bullet and applying it on our lips. It’s so memorable that some brands turned it into fragrances, transporting you to that time you wore a specific shade. (Like that red lipstick you had on during a date.)
In recent years, beauty brands have gotten creative with the scents they incorporate into their lipsticks. Back then, we were only used to lip balms and lip glosses having sweet scents—now that’s changed.
We rounded up some scented lipsticks you might like, especially if you’re into fruity variations and/or ones that remind you of a specific dessert.
L’Oreal Pro-Matte Les Macarons Scented Liquid Lipstick
Beauty vlogger Tati Westbrook could attest that this liquid lipstick really smells like a batch of French macarons. The Les Macarons collection has seven shades and has a matte finish that lasts all day. Available at SM Makati.
By Kilian Le Rouge Parfum Lipstick Matte Finish
Fragrance brand By Kilian launched its first line of red lipsticks last March. In an interview with British Vogue, owner Kilian Hennessy said he wanted to incorporate the brand’s most popular fragrances into lipsticks. “It’s a floral gourmand with orange blossom and marshmallow. So that was the base, but the challenge was that the raw materials allowed in perfume are not allowed in lipstick. So it has a quality of that scent, but is not exactly the same, and is softer, of course,” he said. Available on Neiman Marcus.
Sunnies Face Lip Dip
Sunnies Face’s first-ever liquid lipsticks has a distinct fruity scent you can smell upon opening the product and when you apply it on your lips. Lip Dip comes in nine shades and has a comfortable matte formula. Available at Glorietta 2.
Too Faced Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick
Too Faced is known for its infectiously sweet product packaging and collections. When they came out with a peach-scented line, it included a Peach Kiss lipstick. It’s said to have a creamy matte finish, and is also infused with peach and sweet fig milk for extra hydration. Available on Sephora PH.
Sugarpill Crumpet Liquid Lip Color
Many of Sugarpill’s lipsticks are made with a creamsicle scent, including this bold terracotta shade from the High Tea Collection. It feels comfortable on the lips and also long-lasting. Available online.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin
According to the Jeffree Star Cosmetics FAQs page, not all of the liquid lipstick shades have a rootbeer float scent—so imagine a sugary vanilla smell. If you want one that has it, try Celebrity Skin, which is a soft brown nude that can match any skin tone. Available at SM Mall of Asia.
