In life, there are only a few people who know how to put on a show like Madonna does. For the second night of her Rebel Heart Tour in Manila, she made a moving statement: In light of the 30th anniversary of the People Power Revolution, Madonna decided to make a little tribute by talking about the importance of Feb. 25 in Philippine democracy and then segued into singing “Crazy For You.”
The 1985 hit is something Madonna has only perfromed twice during a live tour. The first time was during The Virgin Tour in 1985, while the second being her 2004 Re-Invention Tour.
The ballad earned Madonna’s first Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and is her second number one single on the Bilboard Hot 100 which makes it one of her most iconic songs of her prolific career.
Madonna also performed “Holiday” while carrying the Philippine flag during the show last night.
Thanks, Madonna, for making our celebration of the EDSA Revolution extra special this year with that rare performance. Maybe you should start singing that live more often, yes?
