A first for Michelin, it recently awarded one star each to two street food stops in Singapore. One being Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle. The citation immediately grabbed more attention for the stall as a mere 12 hours after the recognition was given, Chan Hong Meng had to serve 40 people in line his signature dish.
The demand was quite high that Chan, who is both owner and chef of the stall, couldn’t even entertain CNBC for an interview when the international news outfit passed by.
In Michelin rankings, one star means “high-quality cooking, worth a stop,”and stop we will at this street food joint the next time we find ourselves in Singapore.
