Heart Evangelista’s art is everywhere—bags, makeup products, clothing, and local exhibits. Now, you can find her paintings on jewelry.
The actress collaborated with Royal Gem for “The Modern Muse” collection, which features the women in Heart’s paintings from her 2018 exhibit “In Full Bloom.” The line includes charm bracelets with small versions of the muse paintings, gemstone accessories, and her favorite: a hand-carved teardrop-shaped conch shell pendant necklace.
“I love this because it kind of represents tears of joy,” Heart told reporters during yesterday’s launch. She said the pendant has one of her smaller paintings which she made when she was experiencing depression and anxiety.
“The Modern Muse” is Heart’s second collab with Royal Gem, but she said this is her most personal collection yet because she wanted to highlight the women in her paintings and make them relatable.
“[The collection name was inspired by] everyday women I see everywhere I go. I think women now are very modern, but still traditional,” Heart said. “I want to dedicate this to all women because I want everyone to relate to the collection and use the pieces.”
Fans of Heart look up to her because of her style and poise; some would even joke that she has a “crazy rich Asian” vibe because of her frequent trips to Paris and her luxe wardrobe. (Coincidentally, she’s good friends with “Crazy Rich Asians” author Kevin Kwan) But just like any modern woman in 2019, Heart knows what she wants and continues to follow her dreams even with her very busy schedule.
“My career is a priority aside from having a family. I do love women [who] sacrifice for their family, but I also believe in dreaming with my family,” Heart said. She added that her “modern family” and marriage to Chiz Escudero helped her become a go-getter in this society.
This empowering mentality is one of the things that Heart wants to highlight in “The Modern Muse.” It’s only a matter of choosing which piece/s speak/s to women the most.
