In Sen. Risa Hontiveros’ “Bawal Bastos Law Forum” at Ateneo De Manila University last Tuesday, one person sent an unsolicited penis video via Airdrop using the senator’s name. She addressed it right away and stated that whether “it’s a joke or not, you make someone feel unsafe and harassed.”
To the person who sent an unsolicited penis-video via airdrop using my name to a student during the Bawal Bastos Law forum in Ateneo this morning, you are part of the problem. Joke or not,you make someone feel unsafe & harassed.

Risa Hontiveros is known for her bills that advocate for equality and anti-discrimination. She is the main author of the “Bawal Bastos Law” or the “Safe Spaces Act” that was signed by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte last April 17. It aims to “prevent gender-based sexual harassment from occurring in streets, public places, workplaces, educational and training institutions, and online.”
Last Monday, Sen. Hontiveros also called out Angkas to investigate the driver that allegedly harassed a passenger.
As for the incident that happened in Ateneo, it’s clear we still have a long way to go to put an end to sexual harassment. Which is why Sen. Hontiveros encouraged Ateneans to commit to the “Safe Spaces Act.”
