Heart Evangelista says she has a food baby, now stop assuming she’s pregnant

The latest celebrity to become the subject of pregnancy rumors is Heart Evangelista.

The actress recently posted a photo with husband Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero where fans noticed that his hand is placed on her stomach. One netizen was quoted as saying, “She might be pregnant from the way Chiz holds her tummy.”

Evangelista later addressed the rumors on Twitter: “Guys I’m pregnant with Bonchon chicken, not pregnant pregnant.”

Although Evangelista took the situation in stride, here’s a daily reminder that it’s rude to ask or assume someone is pregnant because of how they look or pose. You might not know it, but it’s high-key body-shaming—it creates the notion that just because someone has a prominent tummy, they’re carrying a child. We also don’t know the challenges women go through to have kids, especially Evangelista who suffered a miscarriage last year.

Let’s all be considerate and avoid such comments toward women. If they want to let people know they’re pregnant, they will announce it in their own time.
