The masses have been heard! Earlier today, The House of Representatives approved a bill that institutes divorce in the Philippines.
According to Inquirer.net, the Absolute Divorce Bill of 2019, which was authored by Albay 5th District Rep. Edcel Lagman, has already been passed on to a Technical Working Group which aims to consolidate all the divorce bills authored by other representatives. Once they’ve accomplished this, the bill will be then reviewed and deliberated again.
For the bill to become a law, it must be approved by both houses of Congress and the President of the Philippines.
Being the only country outside the Vatican City that hasn’t legalized divorce, this is great news to those who have suffered (and continues to suffer) from domestic abuse—whether physical or psychological.

But while this is the case, many netizens still have reservations about it and have taken to Twitter to air their concerns. Their reasons vary from seeing that “cheaters are going to be happy with this bill.” Some have even used the religion card.
It's sad that Philippines might legalise divorce now. We're the only nation left who doesn't approve to divorce bill. Cheaters are going to be happy with this bill :(((((((((((
