In filming an episode for “Sesame Street”’s upcoming 51st season, Billy Porter wore the gorgeous Christian Siriano velvet tuxedo dress he also wore on the 2019 Oscars red carpet—which some people found offensive.
Some people even commented on the actual Instagram post of “Sesame Street,” saying how they weren’t going to let their children watch the show anymore.

And while other critics like LifePetitions thought “Sesame Street” wanted to “try to sexualize children using drag queens” because of this, Billy Porter responded to the negativity by saying, “Stay out of my bedroom and you will be fine. That is none of your business.”
He told Page Six that he was so appalled by how critics called him a “perverted sex demon.” He said, “The really interesting thing for me is that that’s what it’s all about when it comes to LGBTQ people—the first thing everyone wants to talk about is how we [are] having sex.”
