If you’re a sneaker fan, then you know all about Nike’s Air Max Day. Celebrated on March 26, we’re reminded of the first time the brand launched the original Air Max 1 silhouette, which is considered as one of their most iconic shoes. The first Air Max 1 was released in 1987 and since then, Nike has created other Air Max models inspired by the first silhouette.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 90 and the brand has decided to release sneakers inspired by the original colorways. According to Highsnobiety, there are three colorways but our favorite would have to be Hyper Grape.
Highsnobiety also notes it was originally called the Air Max III, which was released in 1990 and designed by Tinker Hatfield. “Boasting a larger air unit than its predecessors, the Air Max 90 was known early on for its improved flexibility and multi-port lacing system, in addition to a textured upper which allowed for more adventurous color schemes.”
There are still a few weeks left before Air Max Day so you can still cop these or other colorways you might be a fan of.
