It seems like everyone is on TikTok nowadays—Rihanna, Ashley Tisdale and even some titos. Originally popular in China, the social media app is used to create short lip-sync, comedy and talent videos. It’s recent popularity spike is something we can thank dance crazes and self-love trends for.
Here are some great challenges that continue to trend on the app:
#SelfLove
The videos you’ll see with this hashtag will make you think twice about how you wish your life was different. Most users that post about this challenge often give you a glimpse of how wrong they were to wish that they were “better” in some aspects, when they were already perfect to begin with.
#ShowYourBeauty
Into makeup? Share your looks to the world by joining this challenge. Apart from showing off your beautiful masterpiece, other accounts also take time to complement each other
#CurvyQueens
Women who post under this challenge might make you proud of your curves. The trend involves plus-size women who dance and encourage body positivity by calling themselves curvy queens.
#RenegadeChallenge
This has been on everyone’s timeline ever since it started. It’s a dance craze made by Jalaiah Harmon, who was asked to perform at the NBA All-Star game. Local artists on the app have also been getting in on it.
#FilipinoMoms
Aside from Filipino-Americans poking fun at their mothers, they also use the trend to show off their moms’ culinary skills and how caring they are.
#HowIChange
This is where the glow-up transformations are at. This trend uses the app’s face lapse feature in order to show how one’s looks changes over the years.
