These are the cats on Twitter keeping me sane and happy

Why is the internet so obsessed with cats? Since the early 2010, there have been internet famous cats such as the late Lil Bub and Grumpy Cat. Viral felines have made such a huge impact in pop culture that the Museum of the Moving Image in New York once housed an exhibit called “How Cats Took Over the Internet.” CatCon is also very much a thing with cat fans converging to meet their fave fur babies and purchase some meowmazing goodies. (If you were wondering, DogCon does exist but on a much smaller scale.)

Cats have adorable little faces and sweet purrs. People find their pursuit for total comfort relatable. Some are fascinated by their I-do-what-I-want-when-I-want-it attitude. It’s been years and yet misspellings on cat posts still make a lot of people laugh. They make us want to bring out the best in ourselves.

Like the internet’s son Gavin, some of us have watched our favorite cats grow. When they take their leave, we’ve gone on to find new pals we can fall in love with all over again. Here are some of today’s Cat Twitters stars that bringing joy on our timelines.

Bilbo

Meet Bilbo, co-author of “How To Be A Good Bboy” and star of purring podcast “Bilbcast.” With the handle @thegoodcatboy, you can probably guess that his page is filled with nice messages for over 98,000 of his Twitter friends.

For a five-year-old, Bilbo has been quite active in supporting LGBT causes. This round, orange boy from Belfast and his mom Ellen Murray are involved in trans rights defense work. Together, they have raised over £4,000 for queer artists. Bilbo is also recognized by the Scottish Parliament after participating in a fundraiser by British transgender charity organization Mermaids. Did we mention already that Bilbo is a good boy? Because he really is.

Primcess Pamcake

In her own words, Princess Pamcake has had “14 year’s screaming and counting.” She is a sweet little woman who speaks her own mind. (think Florence Pugh as Amy March) What this girl wants is Cartier love bracelets, Hermès Birkin bags, “gogurt” and “fishe.” She is also a fan of Hozeir.

She is often seen doing basic ballet foot positions. Recently, she took a liking to “Lordoftharing.” Whenever one of her cat pals needs help, she often pitches in and shares their posts with her followers. We love a helpful queen!

Coke Zero

Coke Zero is a two-year-old “Big Stromg girl.” She often wrestles with her “babey sistor” Blueberry. While her friends have noticed that her legs are pretty short, she’s pretty compact. She’s been challenging professional wrestler A.J. Styles to a match and she might even win considering how much she practices her moves.

She knows how to play “dungon’s amd Daegun’s” and is close friends with Pamcake. Her paw pads are in a combination of pink and black. This fact helps differentiate her from her internet tabby “cousims” whom she likes retweeting on her page.

Cheddar

What’s your opinion on cat poets? Because we think that Twitter cat poet Cheddar is talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same and totally unique. He is a big boy who likes to fight “zombees” and loves ham. His siblings are Socky, Meeko and Chewy.

He often plays around in the dirt and climb trees. He enjoys the sunshine and getting into mischief. But at the end of the day, he’s just cuddling with his mom.

Larry the Downing Street Cat

Larry the Downing Street Cat is the first Chief Mouser to the UK Cabinet Office. This 13-year-old tabby was adopted in 2011 to help control the rat population on Downing Street where the residences and offices of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the Chancellor of the Exchequer can be found. Back when he still held his title, he was also tasked to greet guests, inspect security and make sure that the furniture’s good for napping.

He’s been in multiple fights with fellow Downing cat Palmerston. He was almost fired for being too lax on the job. Although his account on Twitter is a parody, we’re sure the real Larry also has some political opinions. (Especially after refusing to move from under President Donald Trump’s car.)

Pierogi

Love “Where’s Waldo” and cats? Grace Spelman’s cat Pierogi might just be your new best friend. Pierogi loves playing hide and seek and she wants you to try besting her in the game. Some pictures are easy while others will have you squinting for a few minutes.

Pierogi has a friend named Soup who she hangs out with when she’s not hiding. She recently turned four this month. Do you think she’ll be getting better camouflage as she gets older? One way to find out.
