When an architect dabbles in luggage making, he is sure to make it truly, well, totally sleek and new. The Starcktrip luggage collection now hits Philippine shores.
Last year, French designer and architect Philippe Starck collaborated with French luxury brand Delsey on a 16-piece collection featuring travel bags with ergonomics that adapts itself “to each use and each user.” As of today, Filipinos can now check the Starcktrip collection as it is now made available locally.
Like the architect that he is, the designer made angular and edgy utilitarian-inspired pieces of sleek little totes, rolling duffels, and wheeled suitcases.
With the signature double plus sign as it’s Starck’s only visible branding, the dark gray bags are made of water-, stain-, and bacteria-resistant fabric.
Delsey chose to collaborate with Philippe “primarily because [he] is a creator, designer, and interior architect of international renown,” says the brand. But ultimately, it also boils down to heritage: “above all, he is French.”
