Yesterday, it was reported that actress Bela Padilla filed a case against a man who tried to force his way into her condominium unit. The man was said to have introduced himself as a classmate and partner of Padilla.
According to a report on TV Patrol, the actress feared for her safety when an unfamiliar man tried to enter her unit on Thursday night. It was reported that security personnel asked for the unnamed man’s ID, which led them to discover that he was accompanied by two other men.
She then proceeded to press charges for unjust vexation.
Given the events, fans of the young actress started rallying behind her and showing their support through tweeting “Protect Bela,” which trended on Twitter last night. In the tweets, people have been questioning whether respect and privacy are still terms we’re familiar with. Connecting it with the recent issue regarding Sunshine Cruz and her daughters, netizens feel that people should be reminded of the fact that women need to be respected.
Despite all that’s happened, Padilla told her fans that this won’t stop her from showing kindness to those around her. She shared that she will not change and become mean just because a person wanted to harm her. “It’s not my fault if I am kind, it’s his fault that he did something wrong,” she wrote. “Don’t let your heart harden because of anyone.”
