‘How You Like That’ dance cover winner AC Bonifacio is a Filipino Blink legend

A lot of us are well aware that Andree “AC” Bonifacio is a powerful performer, from her high production value dance covers on her YouTube channel and her performances on ABS-CBN shows such as “ASAP” and “Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids.” Today’s all eyes are on her again after YG Entertainment announced that she won second place on its “How You Like That” dance cover contest.

The dancer slash singer and actress thanked her fans in an emotional Instagram post that reads in part, “I’ve been doing all my K-pop covers just because I love them and it was my way of showing support and never in a million years would I have thought that we would win 2ND.” She also shared her initial reaction to the news in a series of Instagram stories. “IDK what to do. The whole team and I are together crying,” she said.

The international contest was revealed on July 9 and AC was among the thousands who uploaded a video of themselves dancing to Blackpink’s “How You Like That” choreography, hoping to win it.  According to the official announcement, the winners will be enjoying a prize pool worth P820,059. She’s sharing it with Yemin Boss of Premium Dance Studio and Vietnamese dance group B-Wild. As the second prize winner, our girl is taking home P246,144 along with Blink bragging rights.

For her dance cover, she copped the Blackpink members’ individual looks (Yes, including Lisa’s iconic sleek bob and lip ring combo). Along with the gorgeous fits, her set was aesthetic with a room of mirrors and ones covered in caution tape and newspapers.

AC is no stranger to international attention. She’s been a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and she performed at an Ariana Grande concert in Vancouver back in 2015. But we have to admit, we too would be gushing if we found out that Blackpink knew we exist. A fangirl dream come true, right?
