Your Monday has officially been saved, with BTS finally having their own Tiny Desk Concert for NPR (National Public Radio) tonight at 9 p.m. (10 p.m. KST)
NPR Music made the announcement on Twitter last night, posting, “It’s happening: @BTS_twt x NPR Music,” with a link to their YouTube channel. If you aren’t familiar yet with the much loved Tiny Desk Concerts, they’re a series of videos where artists perform some of their songs in an intimate space, usually NPR’s office. Some artists who have graced the space include Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and, recently, Billie Eilish.
But due to the pandemic, Tiny Desk Concerts are no longer staged at the desk of “All Songs Considered” host Bob Boilen in Washington, and instead are filmed in the comfort of the artist’s own space. It also temporarily changed its name to Tiny Desk (Home) Concert on YouTube. Despite the change, however, the concerts still retained their intimate charm and stripped-down feel that we and several others are suckers for, so we’re excited to see where our beloved BTS will perform tonight.
It’s been a busy few weeks for BTS as they released their new English single “Dynamite” on Aug. 1 and performed it last week on “America’s Got Talent.” They’ve been lighting up like a dynamite and we’re all here for it.
