Following their “Dynamite” success, global K-pop sensation BTS will be heading to the 75th United Nations (UN) General Assembly to deliver a special message once again.
According to a report by Soompi, UNICEF Korea announced through a press release on Sept. 22 that, “BTS’s message of hope will be broadcast to the world at the high level meeting of the Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security on Sept. 23 at 9 a.m. ET (10 p.m. KST) [9 p.m. Philippine Time].”
The United Nations Group of Friends of Solidarity of Global Health Security invited the group to address the future generations about the difficulties of the coronavirus pandemic. The government of South Korea launched the UN Group of Friends on May 12 as a global platform aimed to strengthen the UN’s response to the global pandemic. Co-chaired by South Korea, Canada, the Kingdom of Denmark, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Sierra Leone, the group currently has over 40 participating countries.
This will be the second time for the boys to give an address at the ceremony. In 2018, the boys also spoke at the 73rd UN General Assembly and gave a powerful speech in line with their “Love Myself” campaign. The 75th UN General Assembly is currently being held through virtual meetings and pre-recorded speeches since Sept. 15.
