The reactions to Blackpink’s ‘The Show’ made us laugh and cry

Blackpink is definitely cruisin’ down your area—but this time, you guessed it, virtually. Before the year comes to a close, the girls will be holding an online concert of their own. Is anyone else wishing for a Lady Gaga or Selena Gomez cameo? Having all these queens in one stage would be a Christmas miracle.

Today, YG Entertainment announced that Blackpink will be holding a live concert that will be streaming on YouTube on Dec. 27 at 2 pm. Apart from the trailer, we also got a poster where the members are looking fierce in black. We hope we’ll be seeing them rock those outfits during the show. Rosé singing a ballad in that latex dress, anyone?

Fans can now buy access to the show’s own YouTube channel. Access to the livestream and rebroadcast costs P1,799 while opting to get additional access to content like behind the scenes to the preparations for the concert costs P2,399.

When a number of Blinks saw the price tag, there were, inevitably, tears. But a testament to the power of fandoms is the number of fan groups organizing giveaways and sending money to fellow Blinks through apps like GCash. Not only do they want to support the girls by buying access, but they also want to share the concert experience with more Blinks. It’s super touching.

Funny enough, fans were trending different hashtags before and after the announcement was made. YG Entertainment has been sharing cryptic posts like “The Invitation” video that has some speculating that a “Sour Candy” music video was about to drop. (We can still dream!) Then, right after the concert trailer’s launch arrived, they were good-naturedly clowning the company for the group’s literal project titles by trending phrases like “The Fans” and “The Broke.” Well, it does work when you’re Blackpink.

Others got a bit emotional over how hard the members are working this year. One fan noted that Jisoo has been filming for her first drama on top of preparing for the concert and constantly interacting with fans through VLive.
