Brace yourselves, ‘Girl From Nowhere’ is coming back in May

Your favorite revenge-seeking vigilante student Nano (played by Chicha Amatayakul) is back to her shenanigans. On May 1, the Thai production “Girl From Nowhere” will be premiering its second season on Netflix—and it promises even higher stakes for ya girl Nanno.

ICYDK, the show is a mystery anthology where the main character, the mysterious, creepy and hella enigmatic Nanno, transfers to different schools and exposes different issues surrounding the schools, from bullying to child abuse. It’s grisly and no-holds-barred while still being oddly cathartic, the hallmarks of a good revenge horror thriller.

As we wrote last year when production of the second season started, “the show is inspired by ‘13 true incidents where schoolgirls have been victimized.’ The idea was to take these stories and show it in a way that would let people realize that victimization is not women’s destiny. Despite the story being heavily driven by revenge, the producers aim for women empowerment as they claim to be ‘the first entertainment series powered by women to empower women.’”

What can you expect from season two? Apparently, Nanno will be tackling even bigger social injustices that take her beyond school grounds, according to a press release. However, she’s not the only gal vigilante around this time, with another similarly creepy girl following in her shadow.

Also, the second season will be having a ton of guest appearances. These include Teeradon Supapunpinyo, who played the rich asshole in “Bad Genius,” and ’70s Thai sex symbol Penpak Sirikul. I can already imagine what kind of storylines we’ll be getting from them.

Netflix also posted a teaser that promises more gore, a possible Nano boyfriend (?), and more satisfying punishments. I can’t wait.
