‘Friends: The Reunion’ guest stars Lady Gaga, BTS, Malala Yousafzai and more of our faves

So no one told us life was gonna be this way. And by this, we mean us getting emotional over the official teaser for “Friends: The Reunion” that just dropped today. It’s been 17 years since the show’s last episode called “The One Where They Say Goodbye” aired. On May 27, all that waiting will finally be rewarded because we’ll be seeing the gang back together on HBO Max—sort of.

The trailer didn’t spill much but we do find out that the show is alternatively called “The One Where They Get Back Together.” Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer are all taking part but won’t be reprising their roles in the reunion special. Instead, we’ll be getting an unscripted talk show-like affair that was shot in “Friends’” iconic original soundstage on the Warner Bros. Studio lot where they resurrected Monica Geller’s apartment. Entertainment Weekly reports that we’ll also be seeing iconic props and behind-the-scenes footage.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, its wild guest list will. HBO Max also announced today that several celebrities will be making an appearance on the show. The list includes David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Tom Selleck, Reese Witherspoon, and even Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai.

Selleck, Hankin, and Witherspoon guest starred on the series in the past. Some of the show’s more eagle-eyed fans took note of the absence of other former cast members, such as Cole Sprouse and Paul Rudd. Though we’re a little sad they’re not on the roster, we’re still excited to see how the seemingly random pool of names will be contributing to the show.

Will we be hearing Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, and Lady Gaga covers of “I’ll Be There For You”? Is Malala Yousafzai going to critique Chandler, Ross, and Joey’s early 2000s-era toxic masculinity? All bets are truly off.
