Despite it not being an official “Wizards of Waverly Place” reunion, the upcoming premiere of feel-good film “This Is The Year” on Aug. 28 is something we’re probably gonna love. It was co-produced by Selena Gomez and David Henrie who played as on-screen siblings in the 2007 Disney show.
The film will have a live virtual premiere that’ll be set up on its official site that’ll be available for $11.99 (around P600). It’ll be hosted by TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio. Aside from the actual film screening, it would include a pre-show party with Gomez and Henrie, Q&A with the D’Amelio sisters and a live performance by lovelytheband.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “This Is The Year” is Henrie’s directorial feature debut that tells the story of a nerdy high school senior’s road trip in hopes of winning over the girl of his dreams. In the announcement video posted on the film’s Instagram page, Gomez says that with all that’s happening in the world, “a feel-good movie is just what we need.”
