It seems like “High School Musical’s” Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and even their director Kenny Ortega and a few other cast members had a little get together over the weekend (don’t worry, this all happened over a Zoom conference call). If you thought I accidentally left someone out, I didn’t. Zac Efron was nowhere to be found—yet again.
Trust me, I zoomed in on every corner hoping that he was just playing a game of Where’s Waldo but no luck. I know, I was disappointed too because I hoped that this time he would show up after not being able to make it to their 10th-year anniversary reunion.
(Good thing no one’s taking down the attendance because even my teachers wouldn’t let me off that easy with this many absences.)
But besides Zac being MIA, this Zoom conference call gave all the hardcore “High School Musical” fans a blast from the past and major nostalgic feels. Vanessa Hudgens even posted a cute photo of the cast doing silly poses on her Instagram with the caption: “Guess who’s back.”
Bart Johnson, the actor who plays Zac Efron’s father in the movie, also left a comment on the post saying: “Warms my heart every time I see a family reunion I didn’t get invited to. ❤️??#typical ?”
Maybe it was just plain oversight, or maybe it was the fans pushing for a reunion so badly that everyone scrambled to get things together in a hurry (it couldn’t have been petty payback over not letting Zac’s character pursue drama class… could it?).
Well, whatever the reason might be for Zac’s absence and Bart Johnson’s missing invitation, at least most of the Wildcats members are still all in this together even during quarantine.
