With 1.6 million followers on Instagram, a hit television show, and a number of movies under her belt, Liza Soberano races past her peers at just 17 years old. It’s a wonder how where she gets the drive to achieve and make a difference industry.
We caught up with Liza at the launch of Camp Courage by Johnson & Johnson where we asked about the tricks up her sleeve and people she looks up to for that extra push when the call times are early and the tapings go on till late.
How do you brush off the negative comments on your social media?
At first, I used to be very affected. It would hurt but then as I got used to it, I started to not mind them. I still try not to promote that kind of hate and I tell my fans to not fight back because it [just encourages the cycle].
What clothes do you reach for at times you don’t feel great but still want to look good?
I always go for loose clothes because it covers up by baby fat. (Laughs.)
How about one makeup item that instantly boosts your confidence?
Tint. Because you can use it on both your lips and your cheeks.
What’s your favorite filter for your posts on Instagram?
I like the [ones from] VSCO [called] HB1 and HB2.
What is one album you have on repeat right now?
Right now? Ariana Grande’s [My Everything] because her concert is malapit na (near). I’m the type of person who tends to listen to all of the songs by an artist before I attend their concert.
Who are your celebrity role models?
Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence because [they are smart] especially in the way they answer interviews.
Iggy Azalea or Nicki Minaj?
Iggy.
Gigi Hadid or Cara Delevingne?
Gigi. No, wait. I love Cara, too so I will say both!
