Like many of you, my phone has been blowing up for the past 24 hours with messages from my very very similarly gay friends frantically speculating and thirsting over the recent happenings on social media. Forget white boy summer or whatever nonsense the menfolk are coming up with, it’s sapphic summer and we are winning.

Shakira
LESBIAN FLAG SHAKIRA!!! SHAKIRA LESBIAN RIGHTS!!!
Okay, so yesterday the singer and Platonic scholar Shakira changed her Twitter profile picture to an image of what looked like the lesbian flag. It had many a gay’s tongues wagging, but it turns out that it was just the cover of her comeback single “Don’t Wait Up.” It does beg the question: Why does her comeback single art look like the lesbian flag? Is she coming out? Is she coming out *“Orphan Black” voice* as a lesbian…supporter? Or was it just accidental and no one on her team thought to flag it?

The single is coming out on the 16th, so I guess we’ll have to wait until then.
Raveena and Willow
Earlier today, soul artist Raveena posted on Twitter two extremely cute selfies of her and Willow, captioning it “willowfairy.” ICYDK, Raveena is openly bisexual, and Willow is poly and attracted to both men and women. Are they doing a collab? Are they dating?

In any case, I do want to fawn over how cute they look! Willow is serving her buzzcut, and Raveena’s messy bedhead waves are adorable. If they are together, I dare you to name me a more powerful mononym couple. I’ll wait.

Last night, expectant mama Halsey announced on social media an hour-long IMAX film. It’s apparently going to be the visual accompaniment to their upcoming album “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.” It’s giving me “Lemonade” meets “Marie Antoinette” and “Rosemary’s Baby,” and I’m so psyched for it.

So it’s not officially confirmed yet, but Rihanna may have been filming a new music video in New York over the weekend. It was shot with her new beau ASAP Rocky, so it could be a collab with him? I don’t know, I just know that we’ve been waiting years for Rih 9 and I need it already.
(BTW, you might wonder why Rihanna is on my queer news list. The reason is simple: Riri is everyone’s first queer crush, and it’s my list so I get to decide what’s in it.)
