Remember last week when we were talking about the importance of husbands sharing the load of domestic work because of that one viral tweet? Well, Saab Magalona-Bacarro is bringing the conversation back this week with her sweet appreciation post for hubby and Cheats bandmate Jim Bacarro. Couples, take notes.
“Appreciation post for this zaddy who always takes time to schedule dates with the boys. He makes sure he is always doing equal work in caring for them,” wrote Magalona-Bacarro in her April 27 post with photos of her hubby with their sons, Pancho and Vito.
“He’s very aware that he is not exempt from care work just because he is the ‘man of the house.’ He never takes me or the boys’ yayas for granted and is the one who [initiates] a schedule to make sure everybody gets appropriate rest,” she added.

The post isn’t all praise though. In the advice-giving fashion of the couple’s “Wake Up With Jim & Saab” and “Makinig Ka Muna” podcasts, Magalona-Bacarro encouraged her fellow parents to discuss sharing household work with their partners. She also asserted the need for more government support for all families so we can all take part in sharing responsibilities.
“We can start with longer paternity leaves so husbands can take care of their wives and newborn children! C’mon, guys, it’s 2022. Hindi na uso ang detached dads. Kudos to dads who chip in!” she said.
In Magalona-Bacarro’s words, “Ang ating tugon: DAPAT LANG.”
