Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo’s family grew bigger on April 25 with the arrival of their first baby together. While we totally understand if the couple would like to keep things private for a while, we’re happy to share in their joy as they finally revealed a few details about Baby D’s delivery and dainty nursery.
Mercado shared the happy news in a YouTube vlog titled “Nursery Tour” on May 1. In the first part of the video, she took us inside Baby D’s nursery and gave fans tips on nursery furnishing. The big surprise came at the end when “4/25/22” flashed on screen and we were shown footage from the day of their baby’s delivery.
“Check up lang dapat kami ngayon eh, bigla na lang kaming… bigla nalang eto na. Hindi kami ready,” the couple revealed while Mercado was lying on a hospital bed and Trillo was sitting beside her in a scrub suit. The video ended with a black and white photo of Mercado in the delivery room with Trillo still by her side.
Last year, the couple revealed that they considered having a surrogate and were expecting a baby girl. Fans will have to wait a bit more to learn about Baby D and how Mommy Jen is doing, but in the meantime, let’s talk about some of the nursery pieces that Mercado mentioned in her vlog.
Mercado showed us floating shelves full of children’s books purchased from The Nook n’ Cranny bookstore. Some of the titles that we noticed are John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s “All You Need Is Love” and “In My Life” picture books.
For the changing area, Mercado has an Amara dresser with changing table topper from Winks, and labeled the drawers with help from new.essentialsph. It stands against an accent wall with pink flamingo wallpaper from Manila Mural where they hung a circular mirror.
Other pieces from Winks are the Santino rocking chair and ottoman, as well as a mobile cart. This comes in handy as it holds her Yogasleep sound machine—which acts as a baby shusher—and one of the emergency baby bags that she places around the house. (A pro tip from Trillo’s sister, who advised that having multiple bags with diapers and wipes would make it easier to deal with the baby’s diaper changes!)
On top of a cube Winks shelf, they placed their Upang sterilizer and disinfection cabinet as well as their Camry digital infant weighing scale. The shelf is fitted with baskets to organize toys according to their use, like sensory and playtime. She also proudly showed their Nuna Leaf Grow baby chair with a toy bar.
As for the baby’s sleeping situation, they prepared an Amara crib from Winks with a pink canopy, an Infant Optics baby monitor, and a Coco Lala baby nest placed inside.
In the bathroom, we caught a glimpse of their Beaba baby bath tub. The actress also has an interesting organizing tip, which is to have storage baskets for clothes that are too big and too small—a good way to figure out how to dress your infant as they grow. And their stroller of choice? A Mamas and Papas Flip XT3.
Baby D really is a lucky and loved baby. Are there any new parents who will be taking cues from this celebrity couple’s nursery shopping list?
