While we’re still slightly smarting from BTS’ indefinite break news, the boys’ multiple solo projects are tiding us over.
Case in point today is Jungkook and Charlie Puth’s latest single “Left and Right.” The collab was first announced by Puth on the 16th, with him releasing a cute TikTok of him and Jungkook pretending to be on call and recording the song for the first time.
The track is about being haunted by memories of a lover. “Memories follow me left and right / I can feel you over here, I can feel you ovеr here / You take up еvery corner of my mind.” It’s not just called “Left and Right” because of that lyric: the song also pans from left to right when they sing “I can feel you over here.” Use your headphones!
The two also released a cute and colorful music video to come with the song. In the video, Puth is taking therapy but flashes of Jungkook distract him. I think there’s also a hint that the two of them were in a car crash? Maybe they were lovers or besties and Jungkook is now haunting him? How else am I supposed to interpret this? (Also, huge points for the “Everything, Everywhere All At Once” montage homage.)
NGL, it looks like the two had a lot of fun recording the track and the music video. Aside from the fun scenes, Puth released a TikTok of them hanging out and being dorks.
