If you think you’ve already seen Miley Cyrus at her worst behavior during the MTV Video Music Awards, consider yourself wrong. The pop culture rebel’s photos for Interview magazine’s September cover and inside photos reveal her most uncovered self yet. Tongue out, boobs out, and ass up—this is Miley’s choice of portrayal for herself.
Miley Cyrus’ inside photos just came out and so did her nipples. The highly explicit “shoot” was in FaceTime format with renowned fashion photographer Mert Alas. The published photos appear to be screenshots of the pop star at her most exposed so far: There is a photo of her exposing her breasts and her holding her undergarment with a smug Mert Alas on the thumbnail. Another is of her licking the room’s floor with her ass up. Two other photos are just Miley (casually, nonchalantly) flashing her breasts.
No further text goes with the set of photos other than the subhead, “Sometimes you have to reach out and touch someone-slash-yourself.”
Interview magazine’s September issue is its “#Me” issue—an ode to the Instagram generation. The publication gave full creative control to the cover stars themselves on how they wanted to be shot, and mostly chose the “selfie” format. And if you give that kind of freedom to Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian-West, Jennifer Lopez, Mert Alas, Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik, and Miley Cyrus, you expect crazy and get more than just that.
Interview editor in chief Keith Pollock told WWD, “We just asked people to imagine their ultimate self portraits—whether it was highly produced or a simple selfie.” He adds, “We wanted to see how they see themselves and how they want to be seen. We allowed each subject to imagine [his/her] own shoots.”
The magazine contains 150 other powerful personalities lumped together in what they dub as the #Instagang. More photos will be rolled out online throughout this month.
