The Best Girlfriend of the Year award goes to Angelica Panganiban, specifically for the special category: the kind that supports her boyfriend’s films.
The Pangako Sa’yo actress isn’t happy about John Lloyd Cruz’s film’s disqualification from the Best Picture category in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The actor stars in Erik Matti’s latest movie Honor Thy Father, a motion picture about the sacrifices a family man must make and the country’s many corrupt realities.
Angelica took her sentiments to Instagram, reposting scoops of what really went down.

Naturally, the actress urges her big following to do what they can: Watch the film and possibly change the committee’s minds. Angelica regrammed long posts—probably friends or her fans—that expressed disappointment toward the matter and awe for the film.
At the end of her Honor Thy Father-related IG spree, Angelica posted a photo of Lloydie’s beaten up face, a still from the movie.

While things are not shaping up well for the film MMFF-wise, we’re on the bandwagon of people saying that the movie truly is a landmark film. It’s okay, Angelica P, this film’s too good for a just local award, anyway.
