Are John Lloyd Cruz and Angelica Panganiban over as a couple? If rumors are to be believed, it seems that the low-key lothario has left Angelica to finally be with long-time love team partner and enduring onscreen soul mate Bea Alonzo. (Conversely, that would mean that Bea and her real-life paramour Zanjoe Marudo are toast as well, but nobody seems to care. Aw.)
But before you get too psyched about the prospect of Popoy and Basha getting together in real life, know that so far, whatever’s being thrown around in the media is still pure hearsay. There still isn’t any confirmation from either camp.
It all started when TV5 showbiz reporter MJ Marfori guested on Mo Twister’s radio show Good Times With Mo and revealed that John Lloyd and Bea are officially an item. Mo later tweeted the scoop on his personal Twitter account:
So MJ Marfori just told us on @GTWMPodcast that John Lloyd and Bea are really together as a couple, overlapping. Chismis!! Hahaha

What’s weird then is that after the rumor was picked up by other media outlets, MJ quickly backtracked and said she was misquoted by Mo. Still, the news continues to spread like wildfire with several “supporting” instances, like when Bea and John Lloyd were reportedly seen feeding each other (or “nagsusubuan,” as some would call it) and that their relationship is apparently an “open secret” among close friends.
Bandera elaborated on another story, this time in relation to Angelica, extrapolating that the actress was “reaching out” to former flame Derek Ramsey because she appeared to be following him again on Instagram.
Bit of a stretch of the truth, if you ask us, but hey, that’s showbiz gossip for you. Only time will tell, but for now, Art Fair Philippines is coming up next month, and we all know how much John Lloyd loves going to that. We’re guessing whoever he ends up taking as his date is his IRL Basha, yes?
