How I Confirmed That You Can Sweat in Style

When I find out that the event I’m about to attend requires physical activity (aka a workout), I begin to sweat—but not out of enthusiasm or excitement. No, it’s more like I’m scared because I know I’ll die or at least have my whole body aching the following day. Coming from a woman who barely works out, I’m pretty sure you understand.

But I guess it’s a different story when they say you’ll look good while working out, right? I mean, the fashion gal in me came to life. Uniqlo is known to create pieces that are functional but at the same time, makes you look polished, if not, great. They create clothes to make living better and I’m sure at least one of you can attest to that. Do you own at least one item from Uniqlo? Then yeah, you get it.

Their most recent collection aptly named Uniqlo Sports is geared towards men and women who love getting active, or even the ones who are just about to join the bandwagon—let’s all hope I’m part of the latter. As we all dressed up in our sports outfit of choice, what I first noticed was that “Hey! I can totally wear this outside the gym! (or in this case, the yoga studio!)”

They carry the same aesthetic of Uniqlo and the wearability of its pieces to their new line, but with much better technology. They incorporated Airism and Dry Ex to these sports pieces, allowing you to move and perform while the pieces wick off the sweat from your body, making you feel comfortable as you move.

And this proves to be true as I try, in the best of my ability, to hold each and every yoga pose throughout the whole class. There was no icky or warm feeling as I sweat my way through a chaturanga and downward dog—in fact, I felt breezy. As I glanced at the mirror to check out what I looked like, I felt good in it—never mind the fact that my face was as red as a tomato and my hair disheveled.

I realized that, yes, you can sweat in style and with ease given the right pieces—not only does it look good, it actually does the job of keeping you comfortable. Now I’m pretty sure I can incorporate this in my almost non-existent sportswear collection. You know, for when I work out once a month. So good job, Uniqlo Sports. Good job!
