In lieu of his usual lacework and ornamented appliques, he decided to pursue a different execution of bold patterns done in silhouettes that emphasize the body. The meeting of east and west inspired Viva, and shows how the marriage of indigenous patterns and modern form can create such a visually exciting collection.
