Rihanna, Zac Posen, and Other Personalities Remember Bill Cunningham

It’s been quite sad for the fashion community the past weekend as legendary street style photographer Bill Cunningham passed away after suffering a stroke.

Immediately, different publications and personalities paid tribute to the man who defined street style photography. Here, you’ll see just how much he was loved and how significant a force he was in the many photos he snapped from New York to Paris.

I can still remember the first time I was shot by #BillCunningham. I called my boyfriend (now husband) @sxmco bellowing something along the lines of “omgbillcunninghamshotmeomg”. The buzz and excitement of having his lens on you even for a nanosecond never got old. RIP to the great Bill, whose infectious and giddy love of fashion truly reflects the best of the industry, whose camera invented the street style category, and whose work ethic is a reminder to find a job you love and do it with gusto. #ripbillcunningham so very sad! can’t believe the Great #billcunningham passed away. When I was a baby photographer in 1988 in London he always offered me a spot next to him alongside the catwalk , both of us with no flash, no extra cameras and only taking pictures of the clothes we liked, sometimes sharing his little fisherman fold out stool.
