Bright Colors and Bold Prints Spotted on London Fashion Week Runways

When we talk about spring/summer dressing, bright colors are surely  going to be at the forefront. At London Fashion Week, a surplus of them came from different designers.

While there are more relaxed collections like Victoria Victoria Beckham, pieces with over-the-top print and color combinations dominated the runways. So we picked out some favorites which might just make you reconsider your monochromatic lifestyle.

Mulberry

Mulberry’s collection went the corporate-looking route with neutral pinstriped jumpsuits, pencil skirts, and dresses. But among them were bright yellow and red-orange dresses that you can either wear to work, at parties, or both.

Charlotte Olympia

Always known for her fun designs like her kitty athleisure line, Charlotte brought a literal fruit party to the runway. This season, the focus was on the bags and shoes which ranged from nude to light blue. And did we mention that there was a banana-shaped clutch as well?

Christopher Kane

Christopher Kane definitely wasn’t scared to go bold this season. Aside from the fact that he brought back Crocs from the fashion graveyard, he also used big floral pattens on some of his skirts and dresses. He also paired them with mosaic-like details because you can’t have too many prints in one outfit, right?

Topshop Unique

Inspired by the rebellious and fun `80s fashion, Topshop Unique went for floral dresses paired with denim jackets, as well as bright-hued pumps. They also utilized oversized trench coats in magenta and zebra-print jackets.

Anya Hindmarch

Another line of trench coats we’ve got our eyes on is from Anya Hindmarch. Her coats all looked soft in white, lavender, teal, and pastel green. Each look was completed with dainty purses of the same color scheme.

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

Thornton Bregazzi took his fascination of mystical stories and channeled it to his latest collection. From using eerie pentagram designs to playful pastel ruffles and shimmery fabric, you can clearly see how he divided both the light and dark side of these stories.

Roksanda

Roksanda showcased a collection which combined warm and cool tones. But what stood out the most were the burgundy and yellow combos which can go with any summer theme.

Mary Katrantzou

One word to describe Mary Kantrantzou’s pieces: trippy. The bright checkered patterns on the clothes is reminiscent of long spiral hallways and truth be told, it makes me dizzy just looking at them. She also mirrors this effect with wavy and elongated patterns.

Versus Versace

As we noted before, this is Donatella Versace’s first collection under Versus and it mostly channels her signature rebel chic style. Other than that, there were also bright yellow pieces among the line of leather and camo. The question though is if you’re willing to wear a large belt over your breasts.

Marques Almeida

Marques Almeida gave a new meaning to streetwear with pastel pinks, mismatched florals, and shiny gold boots. If being laidback next season would look like this, we wouldn’t mind jumping onto this train.
