When Agot Isidro lashed out on social media against President Duterte and how he’s not scared of the United States, the United Nations, and the European Union pulling out foreign aid from the country, one perhaps didn’t expect such a diplomatic reply back.
The Palace representatives, however, still serve as a contrast to the very volatile president. Despite the post going viral on social media, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella even invited to further the discussion “We need to really hear what the President is calling Filipinos to do, which is be free from dependence on foreign aid, which is what the lady is fearful we will lose,” he said.
By now, the President’s team is more than used to putting a lighter spin into their leader’s controversial statements, “The President is calling for Filipinos to be truly independent economically and mentally and psychologically,” Abella continued.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, on the other hand, confirms that the Philippines is still accepting foreign aid and welcomes the help of the international organizations.
What do you think? Did Agot react too harshly towards the President? Did she take it too far when she called him a psychopath? Let us know in the comments down below.
