The team of Maggie Wilson-Consunji and Parul Shah won the grand prize of The Amazing Race Asia 5. They’re the second Philippine team to win the show.
Maggie and Parul were able to reach the finish line in Bali ahead of Team Malaysia, which won them the $100,000 grand prize. The two beauty queens completed challenges in six countries and 12 cities.

Throughout the series, Maggie and Parul often finished in the middle of the pack. Maggie explains that this was their strategy until they reached the finale. “We played the game really well and climbed the ladder ever so slowly. We didn’t want to come in first in any of the legs because we didn’t want to have a target on our backs,” she says. “Who would have thought that two beauty queens would win! I’m pretty sure we’ll be talking about this moment for decades!”
Meanwhile, Parul reveals that they joined the race to help out her family, especially her dad who suffered a stroke. “He taught to never give up in life and I did this to prove that no matter what life throws at you, never give up,” she says.
